Study for Katie's Field, original oil painting

Capturing a pristine, late summer day in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State.  The loosely interpreted sky and mowed field with distant haybales dotting the scene brings a sense of movement and expanse.  The artist exclaimed to her friends that day, "Look at that field!  It doesn't even look real, it's so beautiful!"  This was the emotion captured by this painting.  A mix of awe and wonder at the expanse and glory of God's Creation.

8x10, water-mixable oil painting on canvas panel.  Minimal solvents used.  Painted in studio.  The artist takes great care to protect the environment from harmful chemicals and waste.  Unvarnished.  Framed in an antiqued-gold toned Piccadilly frame, with wire hanger affixed.
